My Host Family Letter

 

Dear host family

 

 

I'm pleased that you have decided to read my letter and I hope, this makes easier to choose me as your au pair. First I would like to give you - a hopefully positive - impression of myself and my life.

My name is Nicole Walter and I come from Rodalben in Germany.

I live together with my foster mother Anni (74) in a two family house with one other family at the edge of the forest. There I often go jogging in summer or take a walk with the 3 Labradors of my foster sister Sandra. My foster father Kurt passed away in 2004.

My foster mother has 4 children. Sandra, Peter, Markus and Thomas. I am the only one who still lives at home.

I'm glad to have such a wonderful family. My experiences during my still young years, have made me strong.

 

 

I would describe myself as reliable, open minded, helpful and friendly. In the contact with children I am affectionate, patient and responsible. In the everyday life I am organised and manage any time stressful situations and keep cool.

Because I work all day in the pharmacy remeins me not much time for hobbies. Nevertheless, I find occasionally time for my friends. We're going to dring coffee, going to the cinema, talk about our work and our future. If I vacation I travel a lot..To discover new countries and cultures means a lot to me. It's awesome to find new adventures, learn something about other life-styles and people in the whole world. I hope I spend my next adventure together with you as your au pair in the USA.

I absolutly love photography, drawing and baking. Who knows, maybe prety soon I can bake something for your children. I love to write and as we speek I writing a book about Florida. Every Friday after the work I go to the gym that always helps me to keep fit. Since two years I'm a part of a badminton team and we have a lot fun together.

 

 

I have collected my first experiences with children during young years. At the age of 12 I have already take care of Nina, the child next door. It has always been me a pleasure to take care of other children. We watched some movies, do handcrafting, played with her barbies and played hide and seek. Twice I was an advisor on a daycare. I have looked after a group of 10-15 children. We took a walk in the forest together, played on the playground and visited the zoo. My most emotional experience was, in end of one day the children have said I'm like a second mother for them and whether we see again. For me this moment was very emotional, because all the children were foster children like me. Hence, I take my motivation and my energy to do my best for children and to make their small world a little bit better. I mean every growth needs love and esteem

Moreover, I have collected a lot of experiences to take care of children in my village. Also I sometimes take care of the daughter of my boss. My biggest dream is to had my own kindergarten.

 

 

But why I want to be an au pair and why you should choose me?

I really adore being around children. I love to share my knowledge with the children and also learn from them. I want to make my dream come true to go one year in the USA and work with your children, have some fun with them and be a positive role model for your children. I could not imagine a life without children

Discover a new country and the culture, improve my English skills and openly for the new world is my plan. Your children will be always safe with me, because I have made beside my experiences to with children also a two-day education (CPR inkluded) for the the firstaider. Among others I have my driving licence since three years, therefore I am a skilled and safe driver.

I'm sure that we will have lots of fun together. I will try my best to be a loving, big sister for your children. I'm looking forward to talking to you.
